Job Description
A Sr. Hardware Systems Engineer responsible for leading the design, development, and lifecycle management of high-volume hardware products, collaborating across teams to ensure robust, manufacturable, and scalable solutions for connected operations technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the hardware systems development for new products, including architecture, design, and technical execution.
- Manage the entire product lifecycle from prototyping and system bring-up to validation, certification, and high-volume manufacturing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to translate requirements into robust hardware specifications.
- Partner with manufacturing and development teams to ensure product quality, timely delivery, and successful mass production.
- Drive technical tradeoffs related to system performance, manufacturability, cost, and schedules across hardware design areas.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in systems design, encompassing multiple areas such as chipset SoC selection, power optimization, antennas RF, batteries, sensors, and PCB design.
- A strong record of navigating and resolving complex tradeoffs among design performance, manufacturability, cost, and aggressive schedules.
- Experience in shipping high-volume hardware programs, working effectively with ODM JDM partners, with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience across a variety of hardware systems, including those leveraging low power design, wireless technologies LTE, BLE, WiFi, GPS, embedded computing, and sensing imaging.
- Expertise in system bring-up and debug, including validation, desense mitigation, and power characterization.
- BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with global cross-functional teams and drive independent work.
- Experience with certifications and testing involved with industrial and automotive settings, e.g., ISO 16750, AEC-Q100.
- Familiarity with schematic and layout tools such as Altium and Cadence Allegro.
- Experience with design for supply, design for reliability testing, and design for manufacture (DfX) principles.
