Job Description
A Sales Engineer at Samsara is responsible for supporting the sales team by providing technical expertise on IoT hardware, sensors, and cloud solutions, assisting with product demonstrations, integrations, and customer technical inquiries to help clients optimize their physical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Global Sales Team with technical inquiries and tasks, including monitoring inbound question queues.
- Support technical trials and proof of concepts through software scripting and system integrations.
- Create and manage digital content for product learning, installation, and configuration.
- Update and maintain hardware and software lab infrastructure, including remote kits.
- Coordinate and participate in new product testing activities.
- Gather and highlight industry-specific customer use cases to demonstrate solutions.
- Coordinate cross-functional communication to ensure customer success, including RFP responses and support triaging.
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 1 year of experience working with customers in a pre-sales or support capacity.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
- Well-versed in one of the following areas: cloud software, networking, automation, and control systems.
- Experience in creating software scripting solutions and integrations to assist with technical proof of concepts.
- Ability to assist with technical inquiries and tasks by monitoring and maintaining an inbound question queue.
- Ability to produce and manage digital content to assist with product learning, product adoption, hardware installation, and software configuration.
- Ability to update and manage internal hardware and software lab infrastructure, both in office and remote kits.
- Ability to coordinate and participate in new product testing activities.
- Ability to gather and highlight industry-specific customer use cases for Samsara solutions by working with technical sales teams.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional communication to ensure prospect success, including RFP responses, Product Feature Request management, and Customer Support triaging.
- Willingness to work remotely within the Pacific or Mountain time zones in the US, excluding Boulder Metro, California, Denver Metro, and Seattle Metro.
- Ability to secure and maintain the legal right to work at the company in the specified work location.
