Job Description
A Sales Engineer at Samsara is responsible for supporting the sales team by providing technical expertise on IoT hardware, sensors, and cloud solutions, assisting with product demonstrations, integrations, and customer technical inquiries to help clients optimize their physical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Global Sales Team with technical inquiries and maintain an inbound question queue
- Support technical trials and proof of concepts through software scripting and system integrations
- Create and manage digital content for product learning, installation, and configuration
- Update and maintain hardware and software lab infrastructure in office and remote kits
- Participate in new product testing activities
- Gather and highlight industry-specific customer use cases for Samsara solutions
- Coordinate cross-functional communication to ensure prospect success in RFP responses, feature requests, and support triaging
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 1 year of experience working with customers in a pre-sales or support capacity.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
- Well-versed in one of the following areas: cloud software, networking, automation, and control systems.
- Experience in creating software scripting solutions and integrations to assist with technical proof of concepts.
- Ability to assist with technical inquiries and tasks by monitoring and maintaining an inbound question queue.
- Ability to produce and manage digital content to assist with product learning, product adoption, hardware installation, and software configuration.
- Ability to update and manage internal hardware and software lab infrastructure, both in office and remote kits.
- Willingness to coordinate and participate in new product testing activities.
- Ability to gather and highlight industry-specific customer use cases for Samsara solutions by working with technical sales teams.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional communication to ensure prospect success, including RFP responses, product feature request management, and customer support triaging.
- Physical and technical capability to work remotely within the Central time zone in the US, excluding Austin Metro, Chicago Metro, Dallas Metro, and Houston Metro.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including working with hardware gadgets, sensors, or vehicles (if applicable).
