Job Description
A Mobile Engineering Manager responsible for leading cross-platform mobile development teams, defining platform strategy, ensuring high-quality product delivery, and driving technical excellence in mobile app performance and scalability within an IoT-focused organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and evolve cross-platform mobile strategy, including architecture and build systems
- Lead customer-facing feature development such as messaging, workflows, and dashboards
- Manage and develop a team of 13-14 mobile engineers across two pods
- Establish measurable KPIs and ensure operational excellence in sprint delivery, incident response, and reliability
- Drive architectural improvements, platform modernization, and performance optimization for mobile apps
Requirements
- 8 years of experience in mobile engineering Android iOS
- 3 years of engineering management experience
- Deep experience in at least one native stack Android or iOS
- Strong understanding of cross-platform tradeoffs
- Experience improving performance memory, startup, network, UI responsiveness
- Familiarity with modern mobile CI CD systems
- Proven track record leading platform modernization initiatives
- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience managing multi-team technical migrations
- Strong written communication skills including RFCs and technical strategy documents
- High technical bar and strong ownership mindset
- Bias toward data-driven decisions
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity
- Ability to balance long-term architecture with short-term delivery
- Mentors engineers to raise collective capability
- Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform, React Native, Compose Multiplatform (preferred but not mandatory)
- Experience with AI-assisted development workflows (preferred but not mandatory)
- Experience working in IoT or real-time systems (preferred but not mandatory)
