The Head of Hardware Engineering will lead the development, prototyping, qualification, and manufacturing of innovative weather modification hardware systems at an early-stage startup, applying aerospace standards and managing complex, evolving projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of the deployment system for weather modification hardware.
Oversee prototyping, operational qualification, and production scale manufacturing.
Partner with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) teams to ensure manufacturing robustness.
Apply aerospace engineering principles to industrial hardware development.
Develop systems that are as robust and scalable as automotive manufacturing.
Requirements
Experience leading the development of hardware systems, including prototyping, operational qualification, and production scale manufacturing.
Ability to partner with an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) team to develop and manufacture industrial hardware systems.
Experience applying aerospace rigor to industrial hardware development.
Proven ability to develop systems that are as robust as those produced at the scale of a car.
Willingness to work upwards of 50-60 hours per week, sometimes more.
Willingness to travel frequently and work regularly on weekends.
Experience leading hardware development for early-stage startups or innovative projects.
Strong leadership skills to oversee hardware engineering teams and projects.
Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, evolving roadmaps, and changing work products.
