Job Description
A Restoration Operator II supports and leads ecological restoration activities across various sites, operating equipment, implementing restoration techniques, and mentoring team members to help restore ecosystems and protect natural resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and lead restoration field activities across multiple ecological sites
- Operate equipment such as skid steers, tractors, and augers
- Perform invasive species control, planting, seeding, and erosion control
- Support herbicide application and site clearing activities
- Mentor and assist less experienced crew members
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during operations
- Track project hours, complete safety observations, and maintain equipment
- Transport equipment and materials between sites and suppliers
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- CDL Class A License to haul equipment across state lines
- At least 3 years of ecological restoration experience
- At least 2 years of experience operating construction and restoration equipment
- Commercial Pesticide Applicator License in the appropriate categories
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, walk on uneven ground, and climb onto construction equipment
- Ability to travel 50%
- Proficiency in equipment operation, field restoration techniques, and jobsite safety
- Strong understanding of project plans and specifications
