Job Description
A hands-on outdoor laborer role focused on site preparation, erosion control, landscaping, and general environmental restoration tasks, working as part of a team to make a positive ecological impact while gaining practical skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with site preparation, landscaping, and erosion control tasks.
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment, including power tools and landscape machinery.
- Implement erosion and sediment control measures according to specifications.
- Set up and maintain traffic control systems to ensure safety.
- Conduct safety checks on tools and equipment before use.
- Analyze site conditions and adapt work accordingly.
- Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
- Clean and store tools and equipment at the end of each day.
- Review work plans and specifications to ensure tasks meet standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of prior work experience
- Ability to operate and maintain various tools and equipment, including power tools like drills and circular saws, and landscape equipment like chainsaws and weed eaters
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Physical capability to walk over uneven surfaces, climb on construction equipment, and navigate hills
- Comfortable working outdoors and performing tasks at ground level
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
