Job Description
The Laborer I or II at RES supports restoration projects by performing manual labor tasks such as seeding, mulching, erosion control, and equipment maintenance, while traveling throughout North Carolina to assist construction crews in environmental restoration efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Machine Operators to maximize productivity on linear footage
- Assist Construction Oversight with shooting grade and taking as-built points
- Perform seeding, mulching, and installation of erosion control matting
- Work with construction crews on manual labor activities
- Conduct routine inspection and preventive maintenance on equipment
- Clean and report issues with equipment
- Support landscape restoration tasks such as planting, seeding, erosion control, and invasive species removal
Requirements
- Prior construction and or landscape experience
- Willing and able to travel overnight and work at assigned project locations weekly
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Capable of walking over uneven surfaces, climbing on construction equipment, and navigating hills
- Comfortable working outdoors and performing tasks at ground level
- Experience and understanding of engineered blueprint drawings and specifications
- Willingness and ability to occasionally lift 70 pounds
