Job Description
The Laborer I or II at RES supports restoration projects by performing manual labor tasks such as seeding, mulching, erosion control, and equipment maintenance, while traveling throughout North Carolina to assist in ecological restoration efforts and work collaboratively with a team dedicated to environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Machine Operators to maximize productivity on linear footage
- Assist Construction Oversight with shooting grade and taking as-built points
- Perform seeding, mulching, and installation of erosion control matting
- Support manual labor activities on construction sites
- Conduct routine inspection and preventive maintenance on equipment
- Clean and report issues with equipment promptly
- Work outdoors performing tasks such as planting, seeding, erosion control, and invasive species removal
- Travel overnight to project sites and work at various locations throughout North Carolina
Requirements
- Prior construction and/or landscape experience is required.
- Ability to travel 2-4 nights throughout the week on key projects and be home on weekends, with Per Diem and hotel stay provided.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally lift 70 pounds.
- Capable of walking over uneven surfaces, climbing on construction equipment, and navigating hills.
- Comfortable working outdoors and performing tasks at ground level.
- Previous experience in outdoor construction.
- Experience and understanding of engineered blueprint drawings and specifications.
- Willing and able to travel overnight and work at assigned project locations weekly.
