Job Description

The Manager, Logistics oversees and leads logistics operations, including international and domestic shipments, team management, process improvements, and project execution to support Redwood Materials' supply chain and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team responsible for international and domestic shipments, claims, and transportation reporting
  • Develop and execute logistics plans to support operational needs
  • Manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery
  • Establish and analyze transportation metrics to support warehousing, shipping, and freight payables
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive logistics process improvements
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of growth and collaboration

Requirements

  • Experience leading a team of logistics analysts and tactical planning to ensure the success of logistics operations.
  • Strong proven experience in project management and logistics for a range of commodities and finished goods.
  • Deep understanding of industry standards and regulations, particularly dangerous goods (DG), and developing and executing logistics plans to support operational needs.
  • Experience managing dynamic projects from conception to completion.
  • Supervise a team of employees responsible for international and domestic shipments, claims, and transportation reporting.
  • Implement a comprehensive cross-training program to expand the team’s skillset and support various functions within the department.
  • Develop logistics KPIs and metrics to drive cost management, capacity management, and vendor management.
  • Establish, maintain, and analyze transportation metrics supporting warehousing, trucking, domestic and international shipping, and freight payables, and prepare metrics for executive presentations.
  • Partner with transportation operations, supply chain sourcing, accounting, and various stakeholders across multiple business units to provide cross-functional support and drive logistics process improvements.
  • Identify gaps in operational efficiency and implement countermeasures to enhance performance.
  • Actively manage and oversee the implementation of logistics projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to defined goals.
  • Ensure all operational processes are documented and in accordance with current standards.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to inspire and guide teams effectively.
  • At least 5 years of logistics management and team mentorship experience.
  • Experience managing projects, including planning and execution.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to input, retrieve, and interpret data effectively.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and creating dynamic spreadsheets with formulas and pivot tables.
