The Interconnection Coordinator will oversee the integration of distributed energy resources such as community solar, utility-scale solar, and energy storage projects into utility distribution systems, managing technical, regulatory, and stakeholder aspects to ensure successful project implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the end-to-end interconnection process for community solar, small utility-scale solar, and energy storage projects
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely project execution
Develop and maintain project timelines, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met
Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with relevant regulations
Evaluate utility impact studies and provide feedback on system upgrades and project design
Prepare interconnection applications in accordance with ISO RTO utility regulations
Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders to facilitate project progress
Identify and mitigate risks associated with interconnection projects
Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry best practices related to electrical distribution and renewable energy
Requirements
A minimum of 4 years of relevant engineering experience including renewable energy design, project management, and interconnection tariff structures.
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in managing distribution interconnection projects, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, grid integration, and relevant industry standards.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance processes for Distributed Energy Resources (DER) projects.
Exceptional project management skills, including leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
Problem-solving mindset and the ability to think strategically to overcome technical and regulatory challenges.
