The role involves providing technical consultation, designing, implementing, and delivering complex data storage solutions such as replication, clustering, and data migrations, primarily in cloud and on-premises environments, to support sales efforts and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
Design and build replication, clustering, and migration solutions for customers.
Provide technical consultation and support for pre-sales and post-sales implementation of professional services.
Collaborate with sales, engineering, and partners to scope and deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
Evaluate and advise on partner proposals for migration services to ensure quality and value.
Develop scripts to automate processes related to storage integration, replication, clustering, and data migrations.
Participate in customer evaluations, proof of concepts, and technical assessments.
Support the implementation of data migration, replication, and clustering solutions across various platforms and environments.
Requirements
Strong technical competencies in the field of replication, clustering, cloud offerings, and data migrations.
Significant experience across different replication technologies, clustering, cloud, and data migration solutions.
Thorough understanding of IT architecture, designing solutions, networking, and implementation of these solutions.
Experience in delivering large scale and complex projects utilizing replication, clustering, cloud, and data migration offerings.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl, Shell, PowerShell, Visual Basic, or Python to enable automation of processes.
Experience with Flash Array storage systems.
Experience with replication technologies such as Active Cluster or similar solutions.
Experience with cloud-based offerings including Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and other cloud platforms.
Experience with data center migrations and consolidations, including tools and methodologies.
Knowledge of networking concepts and high-level network design, including Ethernet, TCP/IP, and Local Area Networking.
Experience with virtualization tools such as Cisco, Microsoft VMWare, Hyper-V, and VMWare ESX/vRA SRM.
Experience with appliance-based solutions for migrating block data, such as Cirrus Data Solutions Appliance or similar.
Experience with data migration tools such as Logical Volume Manager (LVM), Datadobi, StorageX, and Open Replicator.
Proven experience in data center migration implementations for block and file data across multi-vendor server and storage platforms.
Knowledge of storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN, and UNIX distributed network environments.
Experience with disaster recovery, replication, and backup technologies such as Zerto, Veeam, Rubrik, Veritas, and NBU.
Ability to contribute significantly to data migration solutions in RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in any languages being a benefit.
BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other technical field, or equivalent experience.
Team leadership skills.
Ability to support both pre-sales and post-sales roles, including technical consultation, solution scoping, and implementation.
Ability to evaluate partner proposals for migration services to ensure quality and value.
Experience with UNIX OS, NFS file systems, and UNIX distributed network environments.
Knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures and protocols such as FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN.
Familiarity with security concepts including firewalls.
Willingness to work on-site as indicated.
