Job Description
This role involves developing technical solutions and strategies to support sales and customer success in the storage industry, including presenting product architectures, supporting RFP responses, and driving technological innovation within a high-performance team focused on enterprise storage solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of customer business needs and motivations.
- Connect technology solutions to measurable customer business outcomes.
- Collaborate with account teams to create seamless customer experiences and strategies.
- Highlight the advantages of Pure Storage solutions to customers.
- Lead technical evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations.
- Create and deliver technical product and architecture presentations.
- Translate customer requirements into innovative storage solutions.
- Respond to RFI, RFP, and RFQ requests with technical proposals.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability and testing validation.
- Support marketing efforts with technical materials and thought leadership content.
Requirements
- Pre-sales experience is required
- 5 or more years of relevant experience in technology, design, and communications
- Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions
- Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts
- Contribute significant portions and/or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs
- Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN, Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environment
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP cloud platforms
- Experience with installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystem, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, and windowing systems
- Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes (k8s), and microservices architectures
- Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, including On-Premises, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers
- Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other technical degree, or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with modern web architecture such as LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, and microservices architecture
- Curiosity and passion for technology and explaining new technology platforms and concepts to customers
- Familiarity with storage-intensive applications and their requirements such as structured databases (SQL, Oracle)
- Ability to work from the Melbourne office in compliance with company policies
