Job Description

A Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer role focused on developing and presenting technical storage solutions, supporting sales efforts, and driving customer success in the data storage industry, with an emphasis on innovation, technical expertise, and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand customer business needs and tailor storage solutions accordingly
  • Collaborate with sales team and partners to drive revenue and create a seamless customer experience
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise on storage products and architectures
  • Conduct evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations to demonstrate product capabilities
  • Deliver technical presentations to clients to secure technical wins
  • Translate customer requirements into innovative storage solutions
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability, testing, and validation
  • Support the creation of technical marketing materials and stay current with industry trends
  • Contribute to responses for RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs related to storage solutions

Requirements

  • Pre-sales experience of 5 or more years supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts.
  • Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions.
  • Familiarity with modern web architecture such as the LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, and microservices architecture is a plus.
  • Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts is preferred.
  • Contribute significant portions and/or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
  • Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN.
  • Previous experience with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environment.
  • Experience with installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystem, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, and windowing systems.
  • Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Prem, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.
  • Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking.
  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, containers, Kubernetes (k8s), and microservices architectures is a plus.
  • Curiosity and passion for technology and explaining/showing new technology platforms and concepts to customers.
  • Familiarity with storage-intensive applications and their requirements such as structured databases like SQL and Oracle is highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
  • Must have experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts.
  • Must have a strong understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions.
  • Must have experience in targeting new prospects and converting them into clients.
  • Must have contributed significantly or led responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
  • Must have knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN.
  • Must have previous experience with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environment.
