A Software Asset Analyst responsible for managing the company's SaaS portfolio, ensuring compliance, optimizing license utilization, and supporting operational excellence through data management, stakeholder collaboration, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end software request queue, ensuring proper routing, approvals, and fulfillment in accordance with company policies and SLAs
Maintain accurate software asset data, including ownership, contracts, usage, and entitlements
Analyze license utilization and spend to optimize costs and reduce waste through reclamation campaigns
Generate and provide governance reports and insights on request volumes, cycle times, compliance, and cost optimization
Coordinate with stakeholders to plan renewals and new software purchases, ensuring proper workflow management
Support Business Applications Council operations by providing data, documenting outcomes, and updating SAM tools and documentation
Develop and maintain knowledge resources such as SOPs, runbooks, templates, FAQs, and self-service tools for process navigation
Requirements
One year of experience in software asset management, or a related field such as ITSM or ITAM operations with a focus on SaaS.
Proven experience running operational queues using tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar, including maintaining backlog, SLAs, and stakeholder satisfaction.
Hands-on experience with SAM and/or SaaS management tools, such as ServiceNow SAM Pro, Productiv, Zylo, Lumos, etc.
Excellent data accuracy and organizational skills, including experience working with spreadsheets, reports, and multiple systems of record to resolve discrepancies.
Natural collaboration skills and a clear communication style, with the ability to explain processes and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and to set expectations around timelines and next steps.
A proactive problem-solver mindset, able to independently analyze issues of moderate complexity, recommend options, and drive follow-through.
Ability and willingness to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with company policies, unless on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
