The role involves acting as a technical expert in pre-sales activities for data storage solutions, working closely with sales teams to understand customer needs, demonstrate product value, and develop tailored technical proposals to drive revenue and customer success.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with sales teams and partners to create strategies that drive revenue and customer engagement
Understand customer business needs and tailor storage solutions accordingly
Present and demonstrate technical product architectures to customers to secure technical wins
Translate customer requirements into innovative storage solutions to support their growth
Lead evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations for storage products
Respond to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs with technical proposals
Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability and performance testing
Develop technical marketing materials such as whitepapers and web presentations
Stay current with industry trends, competitors, and emerging storage architectures
Support pre-sales activities including discovery, sizing, and objection handling
Maintain technical expertise in storage architectures, networking, cloud platforms, and related technologies
Requirements
Pre-sales experience is required
5 or more years of relevant experience in technology, design, and communications
Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions
Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts
Contribute significant portions and/or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs
Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN, Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environment
Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP is a plus
Installation and configuration experience of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystem, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, windowing systems
Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes (k8s), and microservices architectures is a plus
Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Prem, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers
Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills
BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other technical degree, or equivalent experience
Familiarity with modern web architecture such as LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, microservices architecture
Curiosity and passion for technology and explaining new technology platforms and concepts to customers
Ability to work primarily in an in-office environment at OFFICE_LOCATION in compliance with company policies
Familiarity with storage-intensive applications and their requirements such as structured databases SQL, Oracle (highly desirable)
