A Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer responsible for understanding customer needs, demonstrating technical solutions, and supporting sales efforts in the data storage industry, with a focus on storage architectures, cloud integration, and client-server solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Understand customer business needs and tailor storage solutions accordingly
Collaborate with sales teams and partners to drive revenue and create a seamless customer experience
Provide technical leadership and expertise on storage architectures and products
Conduct evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations to demonstrate product capabilities
Deliver technical presentations and articulate the value of solutions to customers
Translate customer requirements into innovative technical solutions to support growth
Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability, testing, and validation
Support the creation of technical marketing materials and stay current with industry trends
Contribute to responses for RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs related to storage solutions
Requirements
Pre-sales experience of 5 or more years supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts.
Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions.
Familiarity with modern web architecture such as the LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, and microservices architecture is a plus.
Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage solutions and converting prospects into clients, including contributing to or leading responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, and SAN.
Previous experience with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environments.
Experience with installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystems, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, and windowing systems.
Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Premises, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.
Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking concepts.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and microservices architectures including containers and Kubernetes is a plus.
Curiosity and passion for technology, with the ability to explain and demonstrate new technology platforms and concepts to customers.
Familiarity with storage-intensive applications and their requirements, such as structured databases like SQL and Oracle, is highly desirable.
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
