Job Description
A Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer at Pure Storage is responsible for understanding customer needs, designing tailored storage solutions, and supporting the sales process through technical expertise and product demonstrations to drive revenue and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand customer business needs and tailor storage solutions accordingly
- Collaborate with sales team, account managers, and partners to drive revenue and customer success
- Provide technical leadership and expertise on storage products and architectures
- Conduct evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations to demonstrate product capabilities
- Create and deliver technical presentations to clients to secure technical wins
- Translate customer requirements into innovative storage solutions
- Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability, testing, and validation
- Develop technical marketing materials and stay current with industry trends and competitors
Requirements
- Pre-sales experience of 5 or more years supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts.
- Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions.
- Must have a familiarity with modern web architecture such as the LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, microservices architecture (preferred).
- Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage solutions and supporting evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations.
- Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN.
- Previous experience with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environments.
- Experience in installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystems, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, and windowing systems.
- Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, including On-Premises, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.
- Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking concepts.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and microservices architectures including containers and Kubernetes (preferred).
- Curiosity and passion for technology, with the ability to explain and demonstrate new technology platforms and concepts to customers.
- Familiarity with storage-intensive applications and their requirements, such as structured databases like SQL and Oracle (highly desirable).
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
