Job Description

This role involves designing and developing high-performance networking and storage system software, focusing on hardware-software integration, protocol development, and ensuring system reliability and scalability in enterprise data storage platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Architect and deliver core software for high-availability storage platforms
Develop mission-critical system components to ensure seamless hardware-software integration
Design and debug high-performance networking software for scalability and resiliency
Implement Layer 2 and Layer 3 network protocols and features
Collaborate with ASIC vendors and internal teams to develop hardware interfaces and perform software upgrades
Customize and innovate open networking solutions, including SONiC-based disaggregated network operating systems
Mentor team members and set technical standards for complex networking initiatives

Requirements

Advanced proficiency in C, C++ (including C++11) with a track record of building and debugging performance-sensitive systems software or networking applications.
Mastery of Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols including Ethernet, VLANs, BGP, and ECMP, with the ability to translate these complex behaviors into production-ready code.
Practical experience working with switch SDKs or Linux networking internals, kernel concepts, drivers, or packet processing to interact directly with ASIC capabilities.
Understanding of non-disruptive upgrade (NDU) technologies and the architectural discipline required to build systems that minimize customer impact during maintenance.
Ability to independently drive complex problem-solving and influence technical direction across multiple teams while mentoring junior engineers.
Willingness and ability to work onsite at the Santa Clara, CA office in accordance with company policies.
