Job Description
An Engineering Manager responsible for leading the development and operation of cloud-based storage platform components, focusing on building secure, scalable, and reliable systems that connect on-premises infrastructure with cloud services, while mentoring engineering teams and driving strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategy and execution of cloud-based platform components, including data hub, APIs, and metrics systems.
- Oversee the design and operation of secure, high-throughput communication paths between distributed systems.
- Guide teams in building scalable, reliable, and secure systems that enable automation, observability, and consistency.
- Manage end-to-end delivery of cloud platform initiatives, coordinating across multiple teams and dependencies.
- Define and monitor operational KPIs related to reliability, performance, security, and observability.
- Mentor and develop senior engineering talent, establishing technical standards and fostering a culture of quality and reliability.
Requirements
- A strong track record of 10 years leading and scaling engineering teams building complex distributed systems, cloud platforms, or cloud-connected infrastructure products.
- Experience owning multi-team platforms with public APIs, data pipelines, and operational metrics, balancing extensibility with long-term maintainability.
- Deep understanding of cloud-to-edge system design, including security models, data integrity, latency trade-offs, and large-scale observability.
- Proven ability to build and operate resilient, mission-critical systems, making sound decisions under pressure while protecting customer trust.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to lead through ambiguity, align diverse stakeholders, and drive results through clear technical and organizational direction.
- Ability to work from the Prague office in compliance with company policies, unless on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
