Job Description
The Systems Engineering Manager for Greater China leads a technical sales team, develops regional strategies, and builds customer relationships to promote Pure Storage solutions, ensuring technical success and market adaptation in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Systems Engineering team to provide expert technical guidance on Pure Storage solutions.
- Drive technical enablement and keep the team updated on new products, trends, and competitive positioning.
- Lead complex solution design, proof of concept, and technical deep-dives for strategic accounts.
- Build trusted relationships with enterprise customers and partners, understanding their business and technical needs.
- Advocate for customer feedback, feature requests, and regional compliance needs internally.
- Support sales and marketing through technical presentations, workshops, and solution demonstrations in Mandarin or Cantonese.
- Assess regional market trends and adapt Pure Storage offerings and messaging accordingly.
- Align the team with local business practices and position technology to meet regional customer needs.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Partners, and Product Management to drive growth and ensure technical alignment.
- Partner with global and regional leadership to share best practices and localize collateral.
- Set performance goals, manage pipeline activity, and forecast resource needs for the team.
- Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with policies.
Requirements
- Demonstrated technical sales leadership experience ideally in storage, cloud, or enterprise software serving Greater China customers.
- Proven ability to coach and build high-performing Systems Engineering teams in a multi-country, cross-language environment.
- Deep understanding of local IT infrastructure, cloud adoption, and storage trends in Greater China.
- Strong customer-facing and presentation skills, able to tailor messages for executives and technical audiences.
- Experience working with channel partners, system integrators, and distributors in the region.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or related field.
- Fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese (English fluency is desirable).
- Based in Hong Kong office and able to be present in the office for 3 days a week.
