Job Description
This role involves leading a team of performance engineers to define, validate, and optimize the performance of enterprise storage products, with a focus on benchmarking, system analysis, and ensuring high performance in cloud and customer scenarios.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and validate performance benchmarks for FlashArray products across platforms
- Lead and mentor a team of performance engineers to ensure high-quality performance results
- Collaborate with product teams to develop performance validation strategies for critical customer scenarios
- Analyze and optimize system performance by identifying bottlenecks in Linux storage and networking stacks
Requirements
- Proven experience in designing and executing system-level performance testing for enterprise-grade solutions, including servers, storage SAN protocols like iSCSI, NFS, SMB, and databases.
- Expert-level proficiency with Linux systems, including in-depth knowledge of network configuration, storage stack, system settings, and common command-line utilities crucial for performance tuning.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and provide architectural direction to software and performance engineers, elevating the technical quality and impact of the entire team.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of translating complex performance data into actionable engineering improvements that lead to high-quality product releases.
- Ability to define and drive benchmarking strategy by establishing comprehensive, next-generation performance benchmarking requirements and metrics for all FlashArray products across diverse platforms.
- Experience collaborating with Product Management, Solutions Engineering, and Sales Engineering to research and develop performance validation strategies that model and confirm critical customer use cases and requirements.
- Experience overseeing deep-dive analysis of performance bottlenecks within the Linux storage and networking stack, identifying optimization opportunities that improve throughput and latency.
- Deep system-level performance expertise including designing and executing performance testing for enterprise solutions.
- Strong Linux systems mastery, including knowledge of network configuration, storage stack, system settings, and command-line utilities for performance tuning.
- Ability to work from the Bangalore office in compliance with company policies, unless on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
