Job Description
The role involves leading regional technical teams and strategies to drive sales growth, manage large IT projects, and establish strong relationships with clients and partners in the data storage industry, while fostering a positive company culture and supporting team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and orchestrate technical resources within the APJ region to support sales and growth strategies.
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies to increase revenue and market share.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of System Engineers and Managers.
- Engage directly with clients and stakeholders to lead key technical and sales engagements.
- Collaborate with sales and pre-sales leadership to strategize and track pipeline and forecast from a technical perspective.
- Build and maintain relationships with regional partners, alliances, and cross-functional teams.
- Ensure technical team skills and knowledge are aligned with sales goals and customer needs.
- Evaluate team performance, identify areas for improvement, and optimize processes.
- Promote and uphold company culture, values, and team-building initiatives.
Requirements
- Substantial experience of successfully leading a senior leadership team, including managing and orchestrating all technical resources within a region irrespective of reporting structure.
- Proven track record of working on and leading large IT projects, including consulting, pre- and post-sales transformational IT services, or IT design and build projects in IT departments.
- Experience in selling into large organizations and a thorough understanding of what it takes to be successful in this type of selling environment.
- Ability to establish oneself as a thought leader and trusted advisor with key senior client stakeholders quickly.
- Experience in leading and developing a team of System Engineers, Managers, and Systems Engineers, including hiring, mentoring, coaching, conducting regular 1-1s, and ensuring technical success throughout the sales process.
- Ability to develop, improve, and maintain resources, ensuring their efficient deployment to meet and exceed sales goals while supporting customer and partner needs.
- Experience in aligning technical message and approach across cross-functional overlay teams including Channel, Data Architects, PSE, FSA, CTO, and PS organizations.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships and alignment with technical equivalents within regional Alliance and Channel partners.
- Deep understanding of key sales metrics related to sales and how system engineering teams can contribute to improving those metrics.
- Deep understanding of key metrics for system engineering teams and leveraging those metrics to measure team progress and achievement.
- Ensuring system engineers have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively execute processes, including regularly evaluating performance and implementing improvements.
- Ability to evaluate team performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to optimize processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work in an in-office environment at the Singapore office in compliance with company policies.
- Strong communication skills to cascade goals and communicate technical issues effectively within teams and with clients.
- Ability to adapt and adjust to changes quickly and effectively analyze employee actions to identify shortcomings affecting productivity.
- Active participation as an executive sponsor for larger opportunities and participation in regional industry events, conferences, forums, and seminars as a thought leader.
- Strong ethics and personal integrity, including treating people with respect, caring about the company and its people.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a positive team culture, recognize and reward outstanding behaviors, and undertake regular team-building activities.
