A Senior Hardware Design Engineer responsible for designing, qualifying, and troubleshooting high-performance storage hardware solutions for hyperscale customers, collaborating across teams to ensure robust and efficient product development in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead hardware design, documentation, validation, and qualification of storage hardware for hyperscale customers
Troubleshoot and debug hardware issues, perform failure analysis, and support system hardening
Develop, implement, and automate hardware validation and qualification tests to improve processes
Collaborate with engineering, operations, manufacturing, and support teams to integrate storage sub-systems into platforms
Requirements
Proven experience in hardware design, including electrical design, signal integrity, protocol, and functional level qualification of hardware for storage systems.
Strong background in x86 architectures and related interfaces.
Experience in qualifying hardware at the electrical, signal integrity, protocol, and functional levels.
Experience in planning, implementing, and automating hardware qualification processes, including selecting x86 subcomponents, NVMe drives, and power supplies.
Proficiency in debugging hardware issues using high-speed oscilloscopes and bus analyzers to perform trace capture and analysis.
Strong experience with scripting languages such as Python and BASH for test development and workflow automation.
Ability to lead hardware design and qualification efforts, including documentation, validation, and qualification of hardware for storage sub-systems and platforms.
Experience working directly with hyperscale customers and ODM/JDM partners to understand requirements and tailor solutions.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues, perform failure and root cause analysis, and support system hardening and customer needs.
Experience collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, operations, manufacturing, and support teams to integrate storage sub-systems into platforms and guide them to production.
Willingness to work onsite at the Santa Clara, CA office in accordance with company policies.
