Job Description
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing fire alarm system projects, ensuring they meet goals, budgets, and safety standards while serving as the main contact with clients and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate projects to meet overall goals
- Serve as the main contact with contractors and owners
- Review shop drawings, contract drawings, specifications, and standards to determine installation methods
- Generate proposals for change orders and track project changes
- Determine labor requirements, prepare schedules, and monitor project progress
- Order and track materials, equipment, and tools needed for projects
- Review project timelines to ensure alignment with budgets
- Monitor overall project progress and maintain job records
- Communicate approved change orders, RFIs, ASIs, and MCRs to relevant parties
- Ensure safety standards and procedures are followed on-site
- Meet with authorities having jurisdiction, contractors, owners, and design professionals to discuss project progress
- Perform regular project reviews with the Fire Alarm Manager
- Assist with closeout documentation and review as-built drawings for accuracy
Requirements
- High School diploma, technical or related experience and or training, required.
- 5 years industry experience, required.
- Ability to operate a computer, use Microsoft Office required.
- Valid driver s license with acceptable driving record required.
- Must be able to comply with SFS s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement.
- Review shop drawings, contract drawings, specifications, and applicable standards to determine appropriate installation methods.
- Generate proposals for change orders, and as assigned.
- Determine labor requirements and preparing schedules, track changes.
- Order and track material, equipment, tools, and other necessary items based on design and or contract needs.
- Review time for assigned projects and or contracts to ensure alignment with project budget.
- Monitor overall progress of the project and preparing job records.
- Generate proposals for change orders, RFI s, ASI s and MCR s.
- Communicate approved items into organizational systems and or to designated representatives for processing.
- Ensure employees follow all relevant safety standards and procedures, work environment in accordance with the SFP standards.
- Meet with AHJ s, contractors, owners, architects, and other design professionals on project progress.
- Perform a formal project review with the Fire Alarm Manager weekly, or as requested.
- Assist support staff and facilitate closeout documents to include O Ms and review as-built drawings for accuracy.
