Job Description
The Fire Extinguisher First Aid Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and selling fire extinguishers and first aid kits, providing customer support, and ensuring compliance with safety standards across designated areas. The role involves working independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality fire safety services and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspection, testing, service, and repairs of fire extinguishers according to standards, codes, and manufacturer requirements
- Record and document inspections, repairs, discrepancies, and recommendations
- Survey facilities for fire and safety needs and reference applicable requirements
- Create quotes, answer customer questions, and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction
- Stock and maintain company vehicle with parts, tools, and supplies
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and organization
- Provide excellent customer service and foster a friendly environment
- Adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and legal requirements
- Work collaboratively with team members and maintain punctual attendance
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid state issued driver s license with acceptable driving record.
- Must have the ability to obtain all licensing required within 90 days of hire, including ICC NAFED Fire Extinguishers Certification and FEX-1 Extinguishers.
- 1 year of experience in performing inspection, testing, service, and repair of Fire Extinguishers preferred, training provided.
- Working knowledge of National Fire Protection Association NFPA 10 Standards Servicing Guidelines and local authorities having jurisdiction AHJ preferred.
- Ability to constantly lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds unassisted.
- Occasionally move lift with assistance or lifting device 76-110 pounds.
- Ability to constantly push or pull up to 25-75 pounds.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, and stretching.
- Exposure to work near moving mechanical parts and varying climate temperature conditions.
- Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- Able to perform duties in a moderate noise environment.
- Must be flexible with driving over 2 hours of paid time to and from jobs, covering areas including Spokane and Colville (1.5 hours North of Spokane).
