Job Description
A Fire Alarm Service Install Technician responsible for installing, programming, repairing, and maintaining fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, program, and repair fire alarm panel systems to meet specifications
- Perform fire alarm commissioning to ensure proper system operation
- Troubleshoot, test, and service fire alarm systems and low voltage life safety products on-site
- Maintain positive customer relationships and communicate system issues and resolutions
- Identify and correct code and non-conformance issues according to standards
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and manuals for system programming and verification
- Provide customer training on device use, maintenance, and preventative care
- Evaluate customer sites for additional equipment and service needs
Requirements
- 2 years experience as a Fire Alarm Service Technician
- 2 years experience as a journeyman low voltage electrician
- High School diploma or equivalent
- NICET II Fire Alarm Systems or higher certification
- EL-O6 Limited Energy Technician Electrical License
- Working knowledge of NFPA Standards including 70 and 72 Servicing Guidelines and local AHJ requirements (preferred but not mandatory)
- Knowledge and ability to understand and operate basic computer functions such as Windows, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Apple IOS, and Android
- Valid state issued driver s license with acceptable driving record
