Job Description
A Fire Alarm System Sales Engineer responsible for estimating, selling, and managing fire alarm system replacements, upgrades, and installations while building strong customer relationships and pursuing new business opportunities within the fire and life safety industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate estimates for fire alarm system replacements and upgrades.
- Assess existing fire alarm systems for obsolescence and compliance with codes.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, and conduct site surveys to define project scope.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to develop proposals.
- Negotiate contracts within financial and strategic guidelines.
- Build and maintain relationships with end users, contractors, and project managers.
- Represent PSI as a trusted partner for quality and reliability.
- Maintain communication with clients to identify new business opportunities.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities beyond public bids.
- Promote PSI's capabilities to architectural and engineering firms.
- Collaborate with operations to ensure smooth project handoff and customer expectation alignment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years experience in fire alarm system sales, estimating, or engineering.
- In-depth understanding of NFPA codes, local fire codes, and AHJ interpretations.
- Familiarity with major fire alarm system brands such as Notifier, Siemens, EST, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and conduct on-site assessments.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software.
- NICET Level II or higher in Fire Alarm Systems preferred.
