Job Description
The Senior Product Manager for High Resolution Imagery Products is responsible for developing and executing the strategy and roadmap for collecting, processing, and delivering global high-resolution satellite imagery, ensuring it meets customer needs and supports global challenges through Earth Observation technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive the end-to-end product strategy for high resolution imagery, aligning with company priorities and customer needs
- Evolve product requirements for Planet's Pelican mission and ensure a smooth transition from SkySat
- Prioritize improvements in cadence, image quality, coverage, cost, and latency for high-resolution systems
- Collaborate with image processing, quality, and engineering teams to improve imagery quality and delivery pipelines
- Analyze usage patterns and customer feedback to iterate on imagery products and solutions
- Interface with platform and tasking teams to drive delivery requirements for high-resolution missions
- Define success metrics and use data-driven insights to guide product decisions and communicate impact
- Champion the voice of the customer to ensure imagery products meet diverse industry needs
Requirements
- 6 years of product management experience, ideally in Earth Observation, geospatial, or related technical domains.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Excellent understanding of satellite imagery, remote sensing, or large-scale data products.
- Experience balancing technical trade-offs and customer needs in complex product ecosystems.
- Ability to align diverse stakeholders around strategy, priorities, and execution.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
- Superb analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-informed decision-making approach.
- Experience effectively collaborating with Engineering teams and delivering results.
- Experience working with and meeting the needs of customers.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize appropriately.
- Experience with high-resolution, tasked Earth Observation (EO) products.
- Background in remote sensing science, image processing, or geospatial data analysis.
- Experience building and scaling core data or imagery products that serve multiple market segments.
- Experience working closely with operations teams and understanding the realities of satellite or sensor constraints.
- This position requires access to export-controlled information, and employment or hiring of a contractor is contingent upon the candidate’s ability to access all applicable export-controlled information without additional export licensing being required by the Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.

Salary range depending on location (e.g., NYC: $153,000 - $191,300; SF: $162,600 - $203,200; US National: $142,800 - $178,500)
