Job Description
The Space Systems Engineer will support daily satellite operations, analyze data, troubleshoot anomalies, deploy software updates, and contribute to the development and optimization of Planet's Earth Observation satellite constellation through automation and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily satellite operations, analyze data, and resolve anomalies
- Develop, test, and deploy software for satellite operations and on-orbit experiments
- Create and maintain operational procedures and real-time software solutions
- Perform fleet checks, support on-call shifts, and support software upgrades
- Analyze satellite data to identify issues and propose improvements
- Provide operational insights and feedback to engineering teams
- Shape operational strategies for next-generation spacecraft
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience
- At least 1 year of related experience in software development or space operations
- Experience in software development, particularly in Python or similar languages
- Data-driven mindset with experience in statistical analysis
- Familiarity with the space environment and its challenges
- Proactive approach to engineering and problem-solving
- Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills within a technical team
- Professional working proficiency in English, the language of the company
