The role involves managing the development and delivery of geospatial solutions by translating customer needs into technical specifications, creating reusable platform components, and collaborating with engineering and sales teams to deliver measurable value across various vertical markets.
Key Responsibilities
Lead customer discovery and feasibility studies to validate high-value use cases.
Decompose complex vertical requirements into detailed technical specifications, user stories, and backlog items.
Manage sprint planning and backlog grooming to ensure balanced feature delivery and technical debt management.
Define and deliver reusable building blocks within the Planet Platform to enable scalable solutions.
Collaborate with Product Marketing and Sales to communicate technical capabilities and demonstrate ROI.
Build relationships with external partners and government agencies to identify collaboration opportunities.
Requirements
Six years of experience in product management, ideally within Earth Observation or geospatial analytics.
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Experience launching solution products bundles of data, analytics, and services rather than just standalone features.
Ability to translate complex vertical needs into clear engineering tasks and user outcomes.
Solid understanding of vertical market dynamics such as government procurement and supply chains, and experience assessing market size viability.
Experience managing end-to-end product lifecycles and navigating ambiguity in fast-paced environments.
