Job Description
The role involves designing and launching AI-powered geospatial analysis tools and interfaces, enabling users to interact with satellite Earth Observation data through innovative, user-friendly experiences. The position focuses on creating disruptive AI-driven features that simplify complex data visualization and analysis for a diverse range of users.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and launch AI-powered features and products for geospatial analysis
- Create intuitive Large Language Model (LLM) interfaces for translating user questions into geospatial queries and insights
- Develop patterns for explainability and verification of AI/ML model outputs
- Identify opportunities to integrate AI/ML models into the platform to enhance user experience
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including AI researchers, data scientists, product managers, and engineers to ensure design feasibility and excellence
Requirements
- 10 years of professional experience designing complex digital products, especially bringing new products to market
- Bachelor's degree in design or an equivalent field
- Expertise in designing for technical, SaaS, or B2B products, collaborating closely with product and engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle
- Experience working with Figma, Adobe, and design systems
- A design portfolio demonstrating examples of professional projects, the results, and how you got there
- Experience conducting usability testing and lightweight user research, synthesizing findings into actionable design improvements
- End-to-end design experience where projects have been taken from early ideation to live software, with feedback gathered and improvements made upon previous iterations
- Experience overcoming design roadblocks and challenges
- Proficiency in UX/UI design, interaction design, rapid prototyping, usability and accessibility, visual design principles, and user-centric design
- Previous experience with GIS, geospatial data, and/or remote sensing is required if tangential
- AI native mindset, with experience using AI tools for creative ideation and code generation
- Experience in developing speculative or future-state products, interactions, and concept models
- Experience solving complex problems, making contributions, communicating the problem, and taking ownership of existing problems
- Experience working on teams with a growth-oriented environment
- Ability to balance empathy for end users and stakeholders in product design and UX

US base salary range of 205,800 - 257,200 USD, with potential bonuses and equity
