Job Description
The Senior NPI Engineering Manager is responsible for developing and leading assembly, integration, and testing processes for satellite manufacturing, managing engineering teams, and collaborating with design and supply chain teams to ensure the successful production of spacecraft.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, lead, and execute assembly, integration, and test processes for satellite manufacturing
- Manage engineering and technician personnel involved in manufacturing activities
- Collaborate with design, test, program management, and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of spacecraft
- Create and implement procedures and work instructions for assembling and testing spacecraft components
- Develop mechanical and electrical fixtures and equipment to support assembly and testing
- Oversee facilities and equipment development to scale manufacturing processes
- Plan and coordinate production schedules in collaboration with supply chain
- Identify and resolve non-conformances, driving process improvements
- Improve spacecraft design for manufacturability in collaboration with design engineers
- Transition manufacturing processes from prototype to production, including technology transfer to sustaining teams
Requirements
- 6 years of manufacturing development experience
- 4 years of management experience managing engineering and technician personnel
- Experience managing complex, interdisciplinary manufacturing processes
- Excellent SolidWorks skills to develop tooling fixturing to interface with spacecraft and to extract useful views for use in work instructions
- Experience with inventory management processes
- Experience building clear and effective schedules for production planning
- Hands-on experience with hardware assembly, integration, and test
