Job Description
The role involves managing complex projects to support the adoption of Planet's satellite data platform by government and defense clients, including proposal development, stakeholder coordination, and process improvement to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive complex projects to scale governmental customer adoption of the Planet Platform and data products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project methodology and strategy
- Develop and deliver proposals for defense intelligence customers by gathering technical inputs and articulating value propositions
- Partner with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and success metrics
- Translate business and technical requirements into actionable deliverables
- Scope, manage, and execute detailed project schedules, including risk mitigation and budget tracking
- Provide project updates to customers and internal teams on progress and strategy
- Design and implement processes for operational excellence and scalability
- Manage contracts with subcontractors, including task assignment, deliverable tracking, and budget management
- Measure project performance and customer satisfaction to improve future delivery
Requirements
- Six (6) years of experience in project management experience, including experience supporting proposal development for government or defense-sector customers
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Experience preparing and contributing to technical proposals
- Experience working with or as part of the Defense and Intelligence community
- Ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects in a technical or product development setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to independently manage competing priorities and adapt quickly in dynamic environments
- A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to balance day-to-day responsibilities with forward-looking improvements
- This position requires access to export-controlled information, and employment or hiring of a contractor is contingent upon the candidate’s ability to access all applicable export-controlled information without additional export licensing being required by the Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls

US National Salary Range 118,170 - 147,690 USD
