Job Description
The role involves managing and supporting U.S. and Canadian Defense and Intelligence customers by providing expertise in remote sensing and geospatial data, ensuring they derive maximum value from Planet's satellite imagery and platform, and fostering long-term relationships to support mission-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with Defense and Intelligence customers in the U.S. and Canada.
- Onboard and train new customers to effectively use Planet's platform, data, and solutions.
- Provide hands-on support and training to help customers maximize platform utilization.
- Assist customers in expanding their usage and adoption of products.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor by applying geospatial and mission knowledge during customer interactions.
- Serve as an internal advocate for customers and ensure alignment on goals and outcomes.
- Maintain ongoing communication with customers throughout the contract lifecycle and escalate issues as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Product, Support, Professional Services) to deliver a seamless customer experience.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for account expansion and manage renewals in collaboration with Account Executives.
Requirements
- Four years of experience in Customer Success, account management, or related fields.
- Experience collaborating with the U.S. Department of Defense and/or Intelligence Community.
- Excellent orientation towards delivering solutions and value to clients.
- Proficient in remote sensing, GIS, or geospatial imagery products, particularly in their applications within the DoD and IC sectors.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work.
- Ability to multitask, work independently, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Technical experience in remote sensing platforms and solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to accurately capture customer requirements and relay needs and impacts to leadership and product teams.
- Experience with geospatial software such as QGIS, SocketGXP, Esri products, GDAL, or equivalent.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel as required.
- Access to export-controlled information, with the ability to access all applicable export-controlled information without additional export licensing being required by the Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.

Compensation/salary range: US base salary range of $83,040 to $103,760 USD, with potential for discretionary bonuses and equity
Work schedule: Full-time, hybrid role requiring work from the D.C. office 3 days per week
