The NATO Account Executive is responsible for developing and managing sales opportunities within NATO's command structure and government agencies, focusing on selling Planet's satellite imaging and data solutions to support military operations and intelligence efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Grow and manage the sales pipeline within NATO's Command Structure, Agencies, and organizations.
Identify, qualify, negotiate, and close large and medium-sized government deals to meet sales targets.
Develop and maintain relationships with government customers, including NATO and related agencies.
Collaborate with internal teams such as Solution Engineering, Customer Success, and Marketing to design solutions, demonstrate products, and attract new opportunities.
Manage the government procurement process and contract negotiations.
Forecast sales opportunities accurately and maintain pipeline hygiene using CRM tools like Salesforce.
Develop strategic sales approaches and proposals tailored to government clients' needs.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or commensurate professional experience
6 years of related experience in software solutions and SaaS required along with a demonstrated track record of success
6 years experience selling to government customers including understanding the nuances of Government sales cycles and how to navigate through the process
Success finding and winning business with Government customers examples include the NCIA, ACO, ACT, NATO HQs and Command Structure
Deep understanding of military operations and planning and the role of intelligence supporting military Commanders that could include Planet s services
Excellent relationships across NATO, Command Structure especially ACO and ACT and Agencies and the partner ecosystem
Excellent communication skills
Self-starter, able to work independently under tight deadlines in start-up environment
Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
Negotiation and persuasion skills
Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
Experience with Salesforce.com or a similar CRM System
Ability to speak French (preferred but not mandatory)
Active Armed Forces Reserve or veteran as a relevant intelligence professional (preferred but not mandatory)
