Job Description

The France Account Executive at Planet is responsible for expanding government sales, particularly within the French military and defense sectors, by developing new business opportunities, managing sales processes, and building strong relationships with government customers to sell complex satellite data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow the sales pipeline for government accounts, specifically the Ministère des Armées and the Armées Françaises.
  • Identify, qualify, negotiate, and close large and medium-sized deals with government customers.
  • Manage the government procurement process and contractual negotiations.
  • Collaborate with solution engineering teams to design tailored solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Work closely with post-sales teams to ensure successful onboarding and customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain relationships with government agencies and key stakeholders.
  • Forecast sales opportunities accurately and maintain pipeline hygiene using CRM tools.
  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve or exceed sales targets in the government sector.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or commensurate professional experience
  • 6 years of related experience in software solutions and SaaS required along with a demonstrated track record of success
  • 6 years experience selling to government customers including understanding the nuances of Government sales cycles and how to navigate through the process
  • Success finding and winning business with Government customers in particular the Ministère des Armées and the Armées Françaises
  • Deep understanding of military operations and planning and the role of intelligence supporting military Commanders that could include Planet s services
  • Excellent relationships across Ministère des Armées and the Armées Françaises and Agencies and the partner ecosystem
  • Ability to satisfy French Nationality and other requirements to hold a Security Clearance
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent native French speaker
  • Self-starter, able to work independently under tight deadlines in start-up environment
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
  • Negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or a similar CRM System
