Job Description
The role involves developing and managing a sales pipeline to grow Planet's government business in South Korea and Taiwan, focusing on intelligence, defense, and national security sectors, by identifying, negotiating, and closing deals with government clients while collaborating with internal teams to ensure customer success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the sales pipeline to achieve or exceed sales targets in government sectors.
- Identify, qualify, negotiate, and close sales deals with government and defense customers.
- Build and maintain relationships with government clients and partners across North Asia.
- Collaborate with marketing, business development, pre-sales, and customer success teams to generate leads, validate solutions, and ensure customer onboarding and growth.
- Manage government procurement and contracting processes to secure sales agreements.
- Conduct product demonstrations and present tailored proposals to prospective government clients.
- Accurately forecast sales opportunities and maintain pipeline hygiene using CRM tools.
- Navigate government sales cycles and frameworks to facilitate deal closure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate professional experience
- Demonstrated success finding and winning business with Government customers, such as the Ministry of Defense, an Intelligence account, or similar
- Deep understanding of the value of commercial Earth Observation imagery in supporting the work of the D I user
- Excellent relationships across North Asia Government and the partner ecosystem
- At least 4 years of related experience in geospatial software, imagery or technical sales required along with a demonstrated track record of success
- At least 4 years of experience selling to government customers including understanding the nuances of Government sales cycles and how to navigate through the process
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to be self-motivated and work independently under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Good judgment and decision-making skills
- Negotiation and persuasion skills
- Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
- Experience with Salesforce.com or a similar CRM System
- Fluent in English, the working language of the company
- Ability to travel up to 40% of the year
