Job Description
A strategic account manager role focused on driving sales, developing and maintaining relationships with key accounts, and implementing strategic plans within a technical and industrial automation environment, primarily through a combination of sales, technical knowledge, and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales of Phoenix Contact products by developing and executing strategic account plans
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across management, procurement, engineering, and sales departments
- Lead cross-functional teams to support account growth, including conducting business reviews and analyzing customer needs
- Develop and implement strategic roadmaps to increase account share, revenue, and profitability
- Prepare proposals, presentations, and sales materials to support product sales and customer engagement
- Utilize CRM systems for tracking customer interactions, reporting, and measuring sales activities
- Deliver product demonstrations and technical presentations to promote solutions and applications
- Qualify sales opportunities within assigned strategic accounts and follow up on quotations
- Collaborate with product teams to develop field presentations and application notes
- Provide sales forecasts and performance reports to management
Requirements
- Must have a four-year degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years sales experience in the electronics or industrial automation controls marketplace.
- Experience working with distribution is preferred.
- Excellent networking and influencing skills needed to communicate at all levels.
- Exhibits high-level interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Successful history in achieving strategic and sales targets.
- Self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Must be able to travel via airplane and automobile for up to six hours at a time.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to travel overnight 20-25 nights as dictated by assigned territory.
- Must comply with company dress code guidelines.
- Punctuality and regular, on-time attendance are required.
