Job Description
This role involves developing and executing regional sales and marketing strategies within California and Nevada to drive revenue growth, leading and coaching a high-performance sales team, building key customer relationships, and managing distributor channels in the industrial automation sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement regional sales and marketing strategies to meet growth objectives.
- Lead and oversee the sales team and distribution partners to execute plans effectively.
- Build and maintain relationships with key accounts and distribution channels.
- Recruit, develop, and evaluate high-performing sales personnel.
- Monitor and report on regional KPIs and sales performance metrics.
- Coordinate sales promotion activities such as trade shows, seminars, and training events.
- Utilize CRM tools for planning, reporting, and tracking sales activities.
- Forecast sales, communicate results, and provide strategic insights to regional leadership.
- Maintain product knowledge, especially in industrial control and automation solutions.
- Participate in regional industry associations and related activities.
Requirements
- Must reside within the territory location of California and Nevada and be able to travel via airplane as required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate an automobile for up to six hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds (samples, demos, and literature).
- Must be able to travel overnight 35-50% as required by assigned territories.
- Four-year degree required; Engineering discipline preferred.
- 5-7 years of outside sales experience required.
- Experience in working with industrial and automation distributors preferred.
- Experience with a customer relationship management software package required.
- Outstanding communication skills in written, verbal, and listening forms required.
- Proficient with Windows-based applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
- Demonstrate initiative by understanding what actions need to be taken and completing the required tasks while seeking the perspective of others as required.
- Demonstrate honesty and forthrightness by taking responsibility for own mistakes, not blaming others, and fulfilling commitments.
- Work as a team player to influence within the business and express gratitude and appreciation to others who have provided information, assistance, or support.
- Readily handle change through lifelong learning opportunities and being open-minded and curious in the face of new challenges.
- Must be punctual in all areas and maintain regular and on-time attendance.
- Timely reporting of expenses, activity, and major regional opportunities not to exceed two weeks.
