Job Description

The digital technology manager at CannonDesign is responsible for overseeing the digital health and delivery of large projects by managing BIM strategies, technology integration, and team coordination to enhance project outcomes through data-driven solutions and innovative technology use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and manage digital requirements for projects, including BIM strategies, specifications, and advanced model delivery.
  • Develop, review, and ensure compliance with contractual digital documentation such as BIM Execution Plans and related standards.
  • Collaborate with design and project teams to establish best practices, workflows, and technology utilization strategies.
  • Lead and facilitate technology-related meetings, including BIM coordination, clash detection, and design review sessions.
  • Manage and oversee a team of model managers and BIM specialists to ensure cohesive digital delivery across projects.
  • Conduct model audits and develop optimization strategies to enhance team productivity and model quality.
  • Partner with clients and consultants to maintain digital model health and support digital collaboration.
  • Identify and implement new technological opportunities to improve project outcomes and firm expertise.
  • Lead the rollout and adoption of new technologies within project teams and the broader organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Architecture, Engineering, Design Technology, or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working in the digital realm of the A E C industry with a solid understanding of project phases from design through construction close out
  • Prior experience in BIM management, VDC coordination, etc. for large programs or projects (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience training others in the design, delivery, and use of BIM
  • Strong leadership skills and client engagement capabilities
  • Knowledgeable in design software and comfortable with new technology testing and adoption
  • Strong technical knowledge of model authoring tools like Revit, analysis tools like Insight 360, Dynamo, and review tools like Navisworks, Bluebeam, Revizto, Enscape, and other Design Applications
  • Knowledge of the Revit API (preferred but not required)
