A Quality Specialist oversees quality assurance processes, conducts inspections and analyses, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with ISO standards within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and improve quality assurance processes to meet standards and compliance
Develop and implement inspection and test procedures based on specifications
Conduct failure analysis, root cause analysis, and testing of materials and assemblies
Prepare summaries and trend analyses of quality issues with corrective and preventive recommendations
Support and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) documentation and compliance
Lead and participate in design reviews and failure mode reviews
Perform quality audits on processes and products to ensure standards compliance
Maintain calibration and proper functioning of inspection and testing equipment
Requirements
Possess an Associate degree or higher in Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Business, or relevant fields (preferred).
Have at least 3 years of relevant work experience in quality assurance or related fields (preferred).
Have knowledge of and skill with inspection and testing equipment.
Have knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards.
Ability to interpret and use engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Hold relevant American Society for Quality (ASQ) certifications such as CQT or CQA (preferred).
Hold IPC A-600 and A-610 certifications.
Have experience in electronics and soldering operations.
Possess error-proofing knowledge.
Have knowledge of SAP or other enterprise-wide management software.
Have prior work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Able to lift at least 35 pounds.
Able to use a pallet jack with a 300-pound load.
Able to use a portable staircase and climb to heights of up to 12 feet.
Able to carry 20-pound, 3 cubic feet boxes up and down a portable staircase.
Able to push a 4-wheeled cart with a 100-pound load.
Able to work 8 hours of overtime per week if required.
Able to stand or sit continually for two hours without a break.
Able to use a computer for two hours at a time without a break.
Must have good color vision.
Must be able to speak, understand, and write in English.
Willing to travel for training sessions lasting 1 or 2 days a few times a year.
Willing to travel to other Phoenix Contact sites once a year for training.
Willing to travel to local suppliers a few times a year.
Must demonstrate regular and on-time attendance.
