Job Description
The Mechatronics Technician I is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment in a production environment, supporting manufacturing performance and quality standards. The role involves troubleshooting, equipment modifications, preventative maintenance, and collaborating with engineering and production teams to ensure efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support technical production performance and resources
- Monitor and analyze equipment performance to optimize machine efficiency
- Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and interpret mechanical and electrical components of equipment
- Coordinate machine enhancements and improvements with engineering teams
- Design mechanical tooling drawings and coordinate procurement
- Complete machine qualification testing and documentation for new equipment
- Maintain spare parts inventory and support equipment readiness
- Execute preventative maintenance on automatic and semi-automatic equipment
- Provide technical support to manufacturing personnel
- Understand and follow department processes, quality standards, and safety procedures
Requirements
- An Associate Degree in Mechatronics, Engineering Technology, or another related field, or 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience in a production environment.
- Experience in a production environment.
- Knowledge of industry standards.
- Knowledge of and desire to work in a production environment.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or other computer aided design programs.
- Knowledge of Mechanical assembly.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to use a pallet jack with a 300-pound load.
- Ability to use a portable staircase and climb to 12-foot heights.
- Ability to carry 20-pound, 3 cubic feet boxes up and down portable staircase.
- Ability to push a 4-wheeled cart with a 100-pound load.
- Ability to work a 6-day week if required.
- Ability to stand or sit continually for four hours without a break.
- Ability to travel to offsite locations, including German Headquarters, for periods of up to 2 to 3 weeks.
- Regular and on-time attendance.
