Job Description
The Network Sales Engineer at EtherWAN is responsible for providing technical expertise, customer support, and training on EtherWAN networking products and solutions, primarily focusing on market engagement, network design, and industry applications to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as subject matter expert on EtherWAN products, technologies, and applications in assigned markets.
- Conduct product introductions and communicate EtherWAN's value proposition to stakeholders.
- Project manage field engagements with sales and business development teams.
- Engage with prospects, partners, and customers through field visits and online interactions.
- Identify market technology needs and relay them to relevant internal teams.
- Deliver networking training sessions at various levels and develop training materials.
- Perform network audits, assist in network design, and recommend EtherWAN products.
- Simulate client network environments to assess product feasibility.
- Cross-reference third-party products with EtherWAN solutions for stakeholders.
- Stay informed on industry trends and customer needs, sharing insights internally.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding EtherWAN products and applications.
- Conduct follow-ups, issue resolution, and customer meetings independently.
- Represent the company at trade shows and industry events.
- Collaborate to generate new and existing revenue within the territory through support and application expertise.
- Use CRM to log support cases, market data, and customer interactions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent in experience
- 3 years plus of customer facing experience
- Understanding of differences between IT and OT networking environments
- Knowledge and understanding of the OSI Network Reference Model, Layer 2 and Layer 3 Switching, Spanning Tree Protocols STP, RSTP, MSTP, TCP IP, and Routing Protocols RIP and OSPF
- Ability to travel via airplane for up to 6 hours and via automobile for up to six hours at a time, including overnight travel
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to sit for 4 hours at a time
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
Benefits & Perks
Base salary of $95,000 - $120,000, adjustable based on experience, location, and internal/external equity
Work schedule includes travel via airplane and automobile, overnight travel, and sitting for up to 4 hours at a time
