Job Description
The Field Application Engineer provides technical support and consultative sales expertise for power protection and distribution products within the industrial automation industry, focusing on expanding market presence and supporting customer needs across a designated territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise to support power circuit protection, conversion, distribution, and monitoring at customer sites.
- Collaborate with sales teams to advance product sales through joint activities, trainings, and strategic planning.
- Act as the technical representative for Phoenix Contact products, supporting sales with power-related technical solutions.
- Develop sales tools, collateral, and campaigns to drive product adoption and market expansion.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to facilitate new business and growth.
- Deliver product presentations and hands-on demonstrations to promote power reliability solutions.
- Maintain and update CRM systems to track customer interactions and sales activities.
- Demonstrate technical competence in Phoenix Contact power products and solutions.
- Meet or exceed sales quotas within the assigned territory.
Requirements
- Four-year college degree, with a technical discipline preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of sales or marketing experience with automation and industrial control products.
- Ability to work independently from a home office and communicate effectively with colleagues with limited supervision.
- Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Must be able to travel via airplane and automobile for up to six hours at a time.
- Must be able to travel overnight 50 or more nights as dictated by the assigned territory.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must comply with company dress code guidelines.
- Punctuality and regular, on-time attendance are required.
