Job Description
The Data Modeler Specialist designs, implements, and manages data models and architecture to support enterprise data management, business intelligence, and data science initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and effective data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and document data architecture and data modeling solutions across various database technologies.
- Develop, standardize, and process data within data warehouse environments, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather requirements and develop data models and data services.
- Participate in regional and global data modeling projects, coordinating tasks with vendors and internal teams.
- Create and execute system testing, develop use cases, and facilitate user acceptance testing.
- Provide technical support for data management systems, including troubleshooting, software updates, and performance monitoring.
- Support data management security policies and implement new data management technologies and infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field and 5 years of relevant professional level work experience preferred, or an Associate degree and 8 years of relevant professional level work experience preferred.
- At least 3 years of data management experience including data modeling techniques, tools, and methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with data modeling tools such as ERWIN, Toad Data Modeler, or Oracle Data Modeler.
- Demonstrated experience with implementing data warehousing principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency in relational database systems such as Oracle and SQL Server, and SQL language skills.
- Solid background in application and transactional systems.
- Ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences through effective communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels within the company and with international colleagues.
- Experience in executing assigned project tasks for data management and demonstrating initiative in completing these tasks.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to innovative technologies and methodologies.
- Experience with data integration development and support.
- Knowledge of data operations DataOps.
- Must be able to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time up to 4 hours.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time, 2-4 hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to travel in vehicles, automobiles, trains, and planes for up to 10 hours.
- Must be able to comply with company dress code guidelines.
- Must be able to travel to foreign countries.
- Must be on-call 24x7, as required.
- Regular and on-time attendance is required.
