Job Description
The Application Engineer provides advanced technical support, product training, and system integration assistance for power reliability solutions, acting as a technical advisor and customer advocate to ensure optimal system performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for customer systems
- Deliver product application training and conduct proof-of-concept testing
- Consult with customers on system design, specifications, and technical documentation
- Develop technical materials such as papers and videos demonstrating product integration
- Communicate customer insights to product management and marketing teams
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies and competitive products
- Document customer interactions and technical inquiries in CRM system
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer visits
- Support sales efforts by assisting in developing strategic accounts and converting opportunities
- Assist with system qualification through design reviews and customer engagement
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in industrial electrical systems or surge protection technologies.
- Familiarity with NFPA 79, NEC, and UL standards for surge protective devices (SPDs).
- Hands-on experience with installing and configuring SPDs in industrial environments.
- Experience working with OEMs, panel builders, or automation systems.
- Troubleshooting and optimizing power reliability solutions.
- Knowledge of wiring, grounding and bonding systems, lightning protection, and electrical safety codes.
- Must be highly technically competent.
- Must be flexible and customer-oriented with a customer first mindset.
- Position based out of Houston, TX, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring on-site training and customer support approximately 3 days per week, with flexibility.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time, up to 2-4 hours at a time.
- Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods of time, up to 4 hours at a time.
- Must be able to travel in vehicles, automobiles, trains, and planes for up to 10 hours.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in verbal and written English.
- Must comply with company dress code guidelines.
- Must have regular and on-time attendance.
- Must provide timely reporting of expenses.
