Job Description
A Senior Software Engineer, Embedded Linux at Pano develops and enhances critical embedded systems using Linux OS to enable faster wildfire detection and response, working at the intersection of embedded Linux, IoT, and AI to support emergency response efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance critical embedded Linux systems for fire detection hardware.
- Work on cloud-connected edge computers to enable faster fire response.
- Solve complex technical challenges related to embedded Linux, IoT, and AI integration.
- Optimize custom Linux OS to improve system performance and reliability for wildfire detection.
Requirements
- Proven experience in developing software for embedded Linux systems, including working with custom Linux OS.
- Experience in developing and maintaining network-connected edge computers or IoT devices that operate in outdoor or wilderness environments.
- Strong programming skills in languages commonly used for embedded Linux development, such as C and C++.
- Ability to solve complex technical challenges related to embedded systems, IoT, and AI integration.
- Experience working on systems that enable faster fire detection and response, with an understanding of real-time data processing.
- Demonstrated ability to develop critical systems that provide reliable performance in mission-critical applications, particularly in the context of wildfire detection or similar safety-critical fields.
- Experience working at the intersection of embedded Linux, IoT, and AI technologies.
- Ability to enhance and optimize custom Linux operating systems used in edge computing devices.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on improving system performance and reliability to aid in fire detection and response.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively within a cross-disciplinary team including hardware, software, and AI specialists.
- Educational background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (implied but not explicitly stated).
