Job Description
The Computer Vision Applied Scientist will develop and deploy deep learning models for wildfire detection and tracking using cameras and satellite data, working on computer vision, sensor fusion, and scene understanding to enhance early wildfire response efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and deploy deep learning models to detect, classify, locate, and track wildfires from cameras and satellites
- Develop computer vision algorithms, foundational vision models, and multi-modal language models
- Implement sensor fusion, 3D localization, and scene understanding techniques
- Collaborate with platform engineers to create software solutions for wildfire detection and monitoring
- Improve core technical systems and develop new features in an agile environment
Requirements
- Experience in building and deploying deep learning models for computer vision tasks such as finding, classifying, locating, and tracking wildfires from cameras and satellites.
- Proficiency in working with foundational vision models and multi-modal large language models (LLMs).
- Experience with sensor fusion techniques and 3D localization methods.
- Ability to understand and interpret scenes using computer vision and related technologies.
- Experience working in an agile environment, balancing the development of new features with improving core system components.
- Strong self-motivation and enthusiasm for environmental challenges and technical problem-solving.
