Job Description
The Computer Vision Applied Scientist will develop and deploy deep learning models for wildfire detection and tracking using cameras and satellite data, focusing on computer vision, sensor fusion, and scene understanding to enhance early wildfire response efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and deploy deep learning models to detect, classify, locate, and track wildfires from cameras and satellites
- Develop computer vision algorithms, foundational vision models, and multi-modal language models
- Implement sensor fusion, 3D localization, and scene understanding techniques
- Collaborate with platform engineers to create software solutions for wildfire detection and monitoring
- Improve core technical systems and develop new features in an agile environment
Requirements
- Experience building and deploying deep learning models to find, classify, locate, and track wildfires from cameras and satellites.
- Proficiency in computer vision, foundational vision models, multi-modal large language models (LLMs), sensor fusion, 3D localization, and scene understanding.
- Ability to work with platform engineers to create new software solutions for environmental monitoring challenges.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic team member capable of working in an agile environment.
- Experience balancing development of critical new features with improving the core technical underpinnings of complex systems.
